As people have recently set their New Year’s intentions and goals we thought we should offer a helping hand. January is over. Maybe you stuck with your new workout routine. Maybe you are successfully opening your emails only after 8am, or reading 10 pages before going bed. Maybe not. But that doesn’t mean you need to be hard on yourself for not meeting your intentions. Intentions are just that, something you work towards.

If you are like some of our team members, you might be growing tired of the grey days, dark mornings, and general winter gloom.
Alexander, our Product Designer, went down one of his colour inspiration rabbit holes and pulled himself back up with two brilliant new colours for our Hoodie (his new year resolution is not having Anthracite Grey in our Top 3 best selling colours).
The inspiration, in his own words, is the following:

Hey! I'm Grace Mahary, fashion model, sommelier, and founder of non-profit Project Tsehigh/PjT.
How did PjT start?
On a trip visiting family in Eritrea, I experienced power shortages and encountered heavy duty pollutants from the diesel generators being used for electricity; thus, I decided to create PjT, a nonprofit dedicated to providing renewable energy solutions to under-served communitites.
What project do you currently focus on?
PjT currently focuses on solar energy projects around the world. We just completed facilitating solar powered street lamps for basketball courts in Burkina Faso and Nigeria.

On Serpentine.
Serpentines appear near present or ancient convergent plate boundaries. Their capacity to absorb CO2 has scientists considering using them as repositories for the disposal of waste carbon dioxide produced when fossil fuels are burned. Numerous studies and small scale tests of geological sequestration of CO2 have produced promising results.
On Tibetan Turquoise.
Turquoise has been associated with divine energy in many cultures. It is known to adorn the wealthy rules of Ancient Egypt, Aztecs, Persia, and China’s Shang Dynasty. It forms in arid environments as a result of a chemical reaction. Turquoise is found in many places, but the oldest mines are in the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt where it was referred to as “mefkat,” meaning “joy” and “delight.”
